Partially Hydrogenated Oils

So I was a bit disappointed to find out that my favorite chips "FunYuns" have partially hydrogenated soybean oils. UGH! I'm trying to stay away from anything that has partially hydrogenated stuff in their ingredients. These are snacks I know have no partially hydrogenated oils in them.

-Lays Classic Potato Chips
-Fig Newtons
-Nabisco Snack Wells Fudge Pretzels
-Special K Breakfast Crisp Bars

What other things do you guys snack on that don't have partially hydrogenated oils?

If you don't know about partially hydrogenated oils I would strongly recommend you google it.

Wow, it's like no one wants to talk about this or a lot of people just don't realize how awful it is for you.

    Snacks without hydrogenated oils:

    bananas
    strawberries
    apples
    oranges

but seriously....when I do buy cookies I get them at Whole Foods or the 'Natural' section of my local grocery store. However, even in "health" stores (Central Market) they can still slip it in there. That's why I ALWAYS read the label of any food I buy that wasn't made by me.

    Ditto.

It is junk food that we are talking about, there are many potato chips, tortilla, chips, pretzels, etc. that have OK ingredients.

    Cape Cod Chips
    Kettle (brand) Chips
traditional Tostitos (oill corn, salt- not sure about all of their flavored stuff)
    Green Mountain Gringo tortilla chips
    Food Should Taste Good
    Popcorn, Indiana kettlecorn
    Laurel Hill pretzels
any Newman's Own cookies or snacks

Tortilla chips and salsa, my store carries several brands that only have corn, oil (not hydrogentated) and salt as the ingredients. And the organic brands are usually cheaper than the brand names.

Apple slices with Fountain of Health brand all natural hummus

    Carrot sticks and peanut butter

    Nuts

    Low sodium V8

    Seapoint Farms dry roasted edamame

Or it could be that people don't have their trans-free items memorized and have to wait until they get home to check the fridge and pantry.

Fresh fruit, dried fruit, vegetables, houmous, tomato salsa, guacamole, plain Greek yoghurt, nuts, seeds, natural peanut butter, traditional soft or hard cheese, protein bars, hardboiled eggs .... quite a lot of foods don't contain any added nasties.
