I find that sometimes I go past my sodium intake becaue I eat sandwiches for lunch. I drink over the 8 glass for water sometime 10-12. And i only exceeed it by 500 according to MFP. Since sodium makes you retain water should I be concerned for just keep going??

unless your kidneys are broken the sodium balance will be looked after automatically. Carbohydrates promote water retention too.

American Heart Association recommends less than 1,500 mg a day. High sodium causes high blood pressure (due to fluid retention) which increases chances for strokes, heart disease, and kidney problems. There are lower sodium meats available that can lower your intake.. Usually the processed stuff has more sodium.
