So I've recently discovered The Low-Carb Grocery (thelowcarbgrocery.com) and found this delightful product. Unfortunately, I have no idea what they are talking about in the item description and thought some other more informed people here might be able to help me out. It's a capsule that you take that is supposed to (partially) block the absorption of some carbs, thus keeping blood sugar more stable therefore reducing carb cravings too. It has no ephedrine or caffeine...

You like your carbs, don't you? Who doesn't!

Cutting down and eliminating them can be very unsatisfying and difficult... until now. CBlock is a revolutionary new product designed to help you rid yourself of unwanted carbohydrates. CBlock inhibits the absorption of starch from starchy foods, including: pasta, pottoes, breads, pastry, rice, wheat, oats (oatmeal), wild rice, barley, buckwheat(kasha), rolls, muffins, cereals, sweet potatoes, peas, corn, beans and lentils.

As you know, bodybuilders cut their carbs to increase definition and decrease body fat - CBlock makes this process easy.

Even if you're not dieting for a show you can still use this product for enhancing definition. If you hate cutting way down on your carbs, you'll love CBlock.

The active ingredient is the trademarked "Trimplex" (phaseolus vulgaris) which has been shown to effectively partially prevent the body from absorbing starches. Trim Plex (tm) inhibits the production of the alpha amylase enzyme, which breaks down starches into sugars for digestion. CBlock goes even further, with added chromium and vanadium, two elements that help regulate blood sugar levels. This maintains your metabolism and trims your cravings for carbohydrates.

CBlock is safe. It is ephedra free, caffeine free and stimulant free.

Not everyone produces amylase. It's just a digestive enzyme produced in the saliva and actually does very little in terms of breaking down starches. This, like most 'blockers', is a waste of money. You may not even be producing amylase anyway, depending on what genes you have being expressed.
