Gorilla Workout -- calories burned?

Hello! I started the Gorilla Workout today. It's an app for my ipad that gives you several different exercises to do for several reps and varies the exercises you do after awhile so that you go through several "levels". The first level starts with squats, lunges and modified push ups.

Anyway, my question is this, what do you feel is the best way to calculate calories burned? Ideas? Tips?

Thanks in advance for any help you are willing to lend!

I am at the same level and had the same question. Hopefully someone knows the answer.
  • I came here with the same question and it seems like there's no solid answer to it. The number of calories will vary mainly based on the weight of the individual and the rate at which someone exercises. For example, a heavier person has more resistance that they're pushing up, so they burn more calories. However, if that person does on push up a minute and a lighter person does all 10 in a minute, then the smaller person is burning more calories.

That being said, here's the best chart I was able to find in about 15-20 minutes of searching online for answers: http://www.nutristrategy.com/caloriesburned.htm. I will log my exercises using the chart and the "Calisthenics, vigorous, pushups, situps…" info. Take that calorie number and divide by how long it takes to do the workout.

So if a 205 pound person can complete the workout in 6 minutes (or 0.1 hours), that person would burn 74.5 calories (745 calories burned in an hour, multiplied by .10 hours = 74.5 calories burned in 6 minutes).

That's the best guess I've got... I'll start there and see how it goes.

Good luck to you guys! I hope you all get LGN body that we all want (Looks Good Naked).
