Feeling Discouraged

Well, I started the month off intending to LOSE weight...and what happens? I gained.

The good thing is that I know what I need to start working on to correct the situation but sticking with it can be hard. And the fact that I am at a new desk job full-time has made things more difficult (lost time at home for exercise with a kid, farm, family business to run).

Anyone have tips what keeps you on track? What keeps your morale up? I'm feeling really bummed.

This place really keeps me on track. I don't know if you have a smart phone, but if you do check out instagram. It's a photo app that lets you post photos of yourself or search others. I follow a ton of fitness motivators and that really helps me.

Remember we ALL fall down, but as long as you get back up that is what matters! YOU CAN DO THIS! repeat that!

Logging EVERYTHING on MFP keeps me on track and as far as morale...I have to give it up to the friends on my FL...they keep me motivated and give tons of support! Just thinking about how I felt, not even mentioning how I looked before I lost weight keeps me wanting to do better, go farther. I hope you find what helps you on this road to a healthier you!! Good Luck :flowerforyou:

I know the feeling. I am an administrator at work, a mother at home, and in general a very busy person. I think it all comes down to drive. How driven are you to look and feel your best? Don't put it off, make time for yourself. Diet and exercise is a very personal way to reward yourself. Don't think of it as something you have to do, think of it as something you want to do because_____. Fill in the blank. For me, its selfish, I want new clothes and too look better in them. To do it right, I have to lose weight. Now, find your personal motivation. Smile and workout like you love it. You might not love it now, but you will love the way you look and feel later.

I have battled the scale more than I'd like to in the past few months - some weeks it's great....and the next, it starts moving in the wrong direction!

I try to keep focused on the day-to-day and make the best choices that I can for where I am right now. I try to work in little treats for myself, so that I don't binge (but I'm trying to work myself off of a sugar dependency!). Even when I'm stressed (I too, am a desk-bound, paper-pusher for work), I try to find an alternative to chips, cookies, and cake...going for a walk around the floor or building, chatting with a coworker to bring my stress levels down, and remembering that I went to the gym this morning so I don't want to un-do my hard work.

Its hard, but try to keep focused on the positive decisions you make (opting for salad, going for a walk) and the benefits to those will come in time. Try to build up some support here (Feel free to friend me - I'm here all week, every week!) so you can keep motivated, no matter what that silly scale says!!!
