Pain under ribs while exercising?

I've been doing the 30 day shred for 2 weeks. My joints hurt SO bad from this. Is this normal? Also I am doing a cardio dance work out. If I do more than just marching (like if I twist my hips or put my arms up) I get an awful pain right under my ribcage on the left side to the point that it takes my breath away and I have to stop. Anyone know why this would be? I can handle the achy joints but this other pain is killing me!! Will it go away as I do more? I'm assuming it's like the pain you get when you run (from being out of shape and not running regularly) and as you do more, your body will adjust and get back in shape and the pain will go away.
