ear piece for MP3 player

I have an MP3 player that I haven't used in a couple of years because the cord to the ear pieces keeps breaking where it leaves the plug into the MP3. I have bought 2 new headphones and they both did this..I guess from the movement caused when I'm running. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to keep this from happening or what type of headphones/ear pieces to use. I'm starting to run further distances again and would really like to have music to keep me company.
