how can i lose a pants size and not lose weight?

I lost a pants size but still weight the same. how could that be possible? I didnt work out in a long time some i'm pretty sure it's not muscle weight

I'm no expert but I think the answer is water weight. Your body is 3/4 water if I'm not mistaken. You can lose fat, but still be retaining water, and that will make you appear to have not lost any weight. The fact that you have lost a pant size, which means inches of fat, means that this is likely the case.0

lost fat...fat takes up a greater volume...so it is entirely possible to get leaner without the scale doing anything...especially if you have really started to exercise because my muscles will retain water to help them repair as the previous poster stated...I've been within the same 1.5 for the past 3 weeks but my pants are looser on me than a month ago...0
