I will ghost log before eating something if I dont already know the calorie count etc. I have also prelogged my dinner when I knew where I was going and what I was going to order, so I could keep my calories in check before that meal.0

I log everything...good, bad and ugly. And trust me, there have been some U-G-L-Y days!! Keeps me honest and also makes me realize that a bad day (or weekend) is not going to ruin all my progress and set me back a year. I pick up and move on0

I'm always brutally honest with myself in my diary. The fact that everyone can see what a piggy I am on any certain days kind of makes me cringe but it definitely keeps me on my toes.0

I also log it all, even when I have 2 ritz crackers or something more destructive like half a pepperoni pizza and a couple Sam Adams beers. :sad:

I log mine then when I say oh cant believe the scales didn't move..... I know why! or the times I think mmm cheat meal I can see when my last one was! lol
To be healthy you should be honest .....so logging to me is good0 -
If I eat it I log it!! I'll tell ya what though...knowing people can "see" my bad days I definitely think twice about what I put in my mouth!! So it actually helps!
^^ this! I opened my diary when i realised my bad days were becoming more frequent. Now i think do i want everyone to know i ate that before i do!0 -
I log EVERYTHING! The good, the bad and the ugly! I try not to beat myself up but I HAVE TO hold myself accountable for my actions!0

I always try and log unless I can't remember exactly what I ate. That happens sometimes with me being a single parent of 3. But I think it's important for me so that when I don't make the progress I want I can go back and see why.0

My nutritionist once suggested that I'd be better off ONLY logging the bad days. Those are the days that I can learn from the most. I know what a good day looks like, but to log a bad day including how I was feeling and what was happening that day is much more helpful for the big picture.0

I had ice cream last night and a cookie today and I logged it... I don't even feel bad about it either!
I had ice cream yesterday too but I was still under my daily calories. Ice cream is not a ''BAD'' food. It's just a higher calorie, higher fat choice.
I track everything I eat, no matter if it will put me way over for the day. If you can`t be honest with yourself, what is the point? Besides, if you have just one day going way over, check out the weekly reports. You may be able to get yourself back on track easily by just adjusting the next few days.0 -
early on, logging a binge (1/2 package of chips ahoy) made me realize that eating something "bad" didn't have to ruin the progress.
Yes, I was over cals that day but not as much as I thought I would be and not enough to gain weight.
I've logged all my bad days since.
Sometimes I can even use the logging to look at other stuff and end up staying in cals for the day.0 -
I agree. Look at yourself honestly, learn from your mistakes, allow yourself to have imperfections, and keep moving forward!0

I logging in everything every day. I would always do well for so long then have a bad day or two and I would mentally beat myself up and then give up. but I noticed by logging in every day (honestly) I find that having a "bad" day every once in awhile is ok. I don't gain everything back just because I treat myself every now and then. We are human, we are going to stumble on any jouney we set out on, we just need to learn to dust ourselves up and keep going ( "bruises heal" ).1

I log everyday weather its good or bad. I don't know my errors if I don't log and I tend to keep overeating or making poor food choices. So logging gives me a since of accountability & is seriously makes me better. I think twice on what I eat,or if the calories are worth it.0

I have logged in everything since I joined last month. It's been some good days, some bad days and some just "ok" days. I like to note it all because it reminds me at the end of the day "if every day were like today, you'd weigh _______" and I see what my bad day does to my eating habits and I try harder the next day to change it for the better. I don't want that prospective number to be higher, ya know?0

The olny reason I've been succesful dieting this time is because I'm using MFP , logging everything (or at least 99.9%) every day. I am being accountable to myself. I'm not worried about what other think, I'm sure some do...but if I don't log everything, even the bad days, who am I fooling? My friends who read my food diary? Do they matter? Not really. I'm fooling myself because I ate what I ate and to ignore it I'm just ignoring reality.
In my opinion, you better start being true to your self and what you want out of MFP ...If you only log the good days, why be on here?

I log everything no matter one. And I have great MFP pals that encourage me so much when I do go over. There isn't any blame or recrimination, they just tell me they believe in me and to pick myself up and keep going.0

YES! I didn't use to but I easily gave up when I wouldn't log in for several bad days in a row. Now if I have a bad day, I suck it up, log it, leave my diary open for accountability and I am WAY less likely to repeat it the next day.0
