Hi everybody!

I drink quite a few each day, maybe 3 or 4 with 2 sugars and semi skimmed milk, I have no idea how many calories I am consuming, and on here some say 90 calories but other say 400?!

What would you say?

How big are the packets and how much milk?

Sugar packets vary by country; in the US they're often 4g or 15 calories each. If by semi skimmed you mean 2% milkfat, that's 120 calories per cup.

So an 8oz coffee with 2 sugar packets and an ounce of 2% milk =
    5 cal per 8oz coffee + (2 sugar packets * 15) + 15 cal per ounce of milk = 50 calories per cup

That's 150-200 calories a day, which is one reason I drink my coffee black and unsweetened.

400? What whackadoodle told you that? Coffee itself has maybe 2 calories. A cube of sugar has 9 calories, and a TB of semi-skim milk has another 7. Assuming 2 sugars and 2 TB of milk, you're still looking at under 35 calories.

I say record the calories and enjoy your coffee.

/enjoying a large black coffee from my favorite coffee shop as I type.

Add coffee, the amount of sugar and the amount/type of milk into your log. Boom... the caloric answer.
