Caloric intake

Hi everyone! I tried using quite a few calculators to get an idea of what my daily caloric intake should be. I took a nutrition class and used that program as well. According to these calculators I should be about 1800 calories a day, however, when they ask how active I am, i click the active button because i am currently doing TurboFire working out 6 days a week and light training on the rest day... then the caloric intake goes up to about 2150 a day. However, i'm looking to lose weight and a 500 calorie deficit a day would equal up to losing 1 pound in a week, which would be ideal right now. If i do that deficit, that would bring my calorie intake down to 1650 a day. My question is, should I really be eating the 2150 calories to maintain body needs? I know some people have suggested I up my caloric intake when I hit a plateau.. and I have read up on that "Eat more to Lose more" program in which people eat about 2000+ calories a day.

Any ideas?

Thanks =)

    Honestly, I'd suggest being really rigorous about weighing/measuring/logging food and attempting to eat at your supposed maintenance calories/day for 3 or 4 weeks while keeping your activity as consistent to usual patterns as you can.

    If you consistently lose some weight, then the formulas aren't quite so accurate for you, and your maintenance is a little higher. If you neither gain nor lose, you'll know what your maintenance is, etc.
