What is your motivation?

Besides being healthy, of course! I’ve found it really helps to give myself little rewards along the way to keep me motivated. I used to use food as a reward – thinking “Since I am playing softball tonight, I can have a burger and beer after the game.” That’s how I go to be where I am today. But now I found more fun and meaningful was of rewarding myself. I have set mini-rewards for each mini-goal.
10/31/09 – 170 – Manicure
12/31/09 – 158 – New outfit
1/29/10 – 150 – Massage
3/17/10 – 140 – Facial
5/17/10 – 130 – Spa Day
5/17/11 – 130 – Get pregnant!
That last one isn’t so mini, I know. My ultimate goal is to get healthy and maintain that health for the rest of my life. Once I prove to myself that I can maintain for a year, my husband and I plan to start trying to have a baby. I’ve wanted to be a mother ever since I can remember. But I know I have to take care of myself before I can take care of a child. I can’t wait!
So what is driving you?

Thats great that you have small goals for each level...good luck with it all!
My main goal is to be able to wear a sexy little 2 piece on Bondi Beach in November (see Ticker photo!) and actually feel sexy in it, which is not possible right now as I have a spare tyre hanging around me :grumble: hence the fitness regime!
But ultimately we do share the same goal, I want to be able to get down to an average weight (my BMI is tilting towards 'heavy') and change my body to a healthier eating lifestyle in preperation for babies!
Good luck to you on the family preparations!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
I haven't set up any mini goals as of yet,,, i think just hitting each ten pound interval goal for myself is reward enough for my hard work
but ultimately [after health etc] my goal is to get a WOW at the airport xmas morning when I get picked up from the airport in amsterdam by my boyfriend after not seeing him since july [and then january before that....we are on our 2nd 6 month stretch apart:sad: ]
i really would like to hit 30-40 lbs off by then...minimum of 20 though [I don't want to set myself up for disappointment either!]
good luck!
