I go thit on two weeks ago at the gym right after i was done runing adn i was all sweaty and gross and it totally creeped me out. I am there to work and not realy be bothered. I get that its hard fo rguys to try and strike up a convo with a girl but this is the last place i want to get hit on. Leave me alone. I guess this makes me a ***** LOL0

I have to say the whole "bring another bottle of water to the gym and offer her it" thats pretty smooth.... try that one Also just start by saying hello or giving a nod , like "whats up girl!"
Just be sure all the 'love assistance' powder is completely dissolved first.
LOL:laugh: Im over here thinking about me just passing out while on the elliptical or running, LOL0 -

Uh huh!! See, then the creepy little man can pretend to be all helpful and carry (drag?) you out to his mystery machine...and off you go...

I get stared down in the weight section because I think the guys think I should be home making beans and tortillas. My gym is full of macho Mexican guys and I'm a tiny Mexican girl...so yeah.....or they try and "help" me, which isn't so bad cuz I'm pretty new to the gym and need all the help I can get. So either its the wannabe alphas giving me dirty looks or the guys that want to help, probably cuz they think its a way into my pants. I suppose if I was single maybe I'd bite...but I'm not.
Don't date doyer fans

Oh and there is nothing to be said about a girl looking cute when she goes to the gym. Hell, I come straight from my office job in nice clothes, makeup, heels, and hair neat. But look at the girl after her workout. If she is still cute, she is probably not all that serious about her workout. I look a hot mess after mine. Lol.
Im a hot mess too when Im done working out. But then again I dont care what I look like walking in the door either.0 -
The other day I was finishing up on a machine and a guy came up and asked if he could "share" it with me. I knew I hadn't been wasting time on it, so I was slightly annoyed by this, but I asked "Would you mind if I just do my last set, and then you can have it all to yourself?". He agreed, then said he was running late because he'd taken too long on the first half of his workout. It was a pulley machine, with 2 more just like OPEN nearby. Later I was using a bench all the way across the gym and he came over and used the one next to me. I kept lifting another 40 minutes or so, and when I was finished, I decided to see if there was a trainer free to measure my body fat for me. Nobody was available, but one brought me over to a computer and made an appointment for me, which took another 10 minutes. As I walked out, the guy was STILL there. "Running late"? Really? He was tall and skinny, didn't look at all like the 2 hour workout type.
So...I'm kinda clueless...was he trying to hit on me?0 -
Hahah I'm actually going on a date tomorrow with a guy I met while I was working out. I'm more of the serious, there to get sweaty and kick my own *kitten* type of person at the gym, but he had enough courage to interrupt me while I was lifting so I can respect that as long as it's not creepy. He asked me about my shirt which had some logo on it so I guess that's a good topic to bring up if you're trying to approach a girl..?
You can usually tell if a girl is interested in talking after you stop her for a sec based on how fast she puts her earbuds back in haha good luck!0 -
Just give her a few smiles and maybe a head nod at first and see if she responds.
If she responds, go up to her and introduce yourself. We are not that complicated.
And, I disagree with the sweaty comment. I work out for four hours a day. You can guarantee that I am a sweaty mess when I am done. I don't mind when men approach me. I've met a lot of friends that way.
But, for the love of GOD, do NOT smile at a girl for weeks at a time just to never approach her. That's just annoying.
^^and definitely agree with that0 -
So there's a ton of hotties that go to my gym. Problem is they usually always always listening to their MP3 player and I'm always afriaid they're taken by one of the guys in the corner bench pressing 350 lbs who's obviously on steriods and will get pissed off easily. What are some ways to approach girls which aren't creepy or something the possible body builder boyfriend will rip my head off for?
I don't know if you would be up for it or not, but go to a Zumba/aerobics class! It's easy to start a conversation before class..just ask questions, like "is this class hard?" or "how long have you been coming to this class?" A guy started a conversation like that with me and a friend of mine on Monday actually, and we both thought he was pretty cute.0 -
OP here. Can't believe this thread is still alive. Lots of great suggestions, thanks.0

When nobody is looking, go into the women's locker room and stuff yourself inside a locker and close the door. When a girl opens the locker you are in say "You are the chosen one!" works like a charm.
lol.. this might actually work on me.0 -
Ask her to spot you. When she says she doesn't lift tell here "It's just a spot don't be scared you can do it" bishes love a challenge! After her excitement is over from spotting you she'll be like "omg I've never done that before." Then tell her " I bet I know some other things you haven't done yet that you'll do with me"
That's when you introduce her to football! Women like being led you gotta take the reigns.
Hahaha! I'd probably say that - "OMG I've never done that before" and I haven't - spotting looks hard. Haaa. :laugh:0 -
girls in the gym.. its not hard pick wisely.. you can tell the ones that are there to work out and the ones that are there to pick up dudes.. the ones there to work out will be sweaty hair a mess hardley any make up left if she has any at all.. DO NOT TALK TO THIS GIRL..

Yes0 -
first things first if he is only benching 350 he is a clown and dont worry about him,.. second.. why does it have to be about steroids because some one is bigger than you.. what ever.. bull**** excuse you have..

find the one pissing around all dolled up in the latest fashin hair done make up all right.. and just be yourself and talk weights at first.. because your in the gymm.. and just follow suit.. ther eis no magical line that will work everytime for every girl.. they are different ya know..
hey I'm that girl minus wearing any make up. guys still come and talk to me and I gladly respond back. it's taken people longer to warm up to me, but a lot of people finally have. it's mostly only the bodybuilders that come and speak, but that is perfectly fine with me. i get good pointers and new workouts from them.
question if a guy has said to you twice that you are looking good/skinny whatever and winked at you at some other point, is he interested?0 -

with a wink, Yes!!
not always with a complement... I know I will let someone know if I have seen them in there consistently working hard. I don't go around giving out random complements, but I think some positive encouragement is good for everyone when they are putting in the work. I am married and not "interested" or "hitting on them" just giving complement, but not winking that would most likely mean interested in your scenario (but not in an online smiley face scenario)0 -
Back in my single days, I have done this three times and had it done to me once.
It is pretty simple really:
1: Respect. When she is actually working out, don't bother with her. Eye contact and a smile is fine but, thats it.
2: Timing: Wait until she is filling her water bottle or headed to the lockers or something. Make it brief. "Hi. I didn't want to bother you while you were working out but I really wanted to meet you."
3: Look for an "in". If for some reason she is benching or squating or something and you see her starting to struggle, offer a spot. IMPORTANT!!!! Once you are done with the spot, she will thank you. Say "You are welcome" and then WALK AWAY. Later go to step 2. (above)
4: I actually had a girl come on to me when I was finished working the heavy bag. I was unwrapping my hands and she approched me. She remarked that she had been watching me hit that bag for about a month but, shen she tried it, she hurt her hand and could I give her some pointers. 20 minutes after that, we agreed to meet up for a quick bite to eat. We ended up dating for three months until I PCS'd. (In the Army, that means to get re-assigned to a different location)0 -
