I just moved to Philly and this place seems to be a mecca for great pubs / places to sample good beer! Anyone in the Philly area that have recommendations or a favorite place, let me know. I am in the Center City area, close to Rittenhouse Square.

    Go down toe South Street. Bunch of bars and restaurants along with small shops. You can also walk over to Penn's Landing while you are there. Welcome to Philly!

    Iron Hill Brewery. I think they have a center city location. I was going to one out in the jersey burbs pretty regularly. Well, that may have been part of the reason I ended up here.

    Pub and Kitchen Good food , good burgers, a little pricey.
    Village Whiskey Best burger ever.
    Ten Stone Nice selection of beers on tap
    Grace's Good beer, good burgers
    El Vez Tacos and margaritas
    Second Good Dog
    Any place run by Steven Starr or Garces is great for food.
    Randazzo's for pizza


    This is why I'm on MFP!, Philly has great food and awesome BYOB's. I have to limit my excursions.

    Try the Standard Tap up in Northern Liberties. I moved to Atlanta about 5 years ago from Philly, so I don't know if the ST is still there, but they had a great kitchen and great beers when I used to go there.

    I've walked by that place and wondered about it. Maybe I'll check it out someday.

    Also, if you like Thai food, there's a restaurant on Chestnut and 21st called Bangkok Thai (I think) and I was impressed.
