MFP set my daily calories at 1730. Too high or just right?

I have only been here a week. MFP set my daily calorie intake at 1730 but now that I am tracking every morsel, I see that I don't go beyond 1300. Sometimes it is 1200 or less, depending on how vegetarian my meals are.
I am easing my way into work outs so I know I am not losing many calories by walking 20-30 minutes a day. Eventually that will go up and I will add more. Don't want to go too fast too soon and either lose motivation or injure myself.
Should I be consuming all 1730 calories every day? Is 1200-1300 too low at this beginning stage?

you made some inputs to a calculation that gave you 1730 as an output. The validity of the 1730 depends largely on your inputs.
As you haven't said what those inputs were, or whether you're a 300 lb 5'-0" woman or a 190 lb 6'-6" male athlete we can only guess :-)0
