Frustrated with Advice

Yesterday I returned two books on weight loss because they were not for me. I like to read books to get information but not be told what and when to eat (I like to gather the information and use what works for me) I mentioned to my friend that I was thinking of looking at the Biggest loser 6 weeks and DASH diet books. WOW did they go off! Told me to stop looking at books and start eating and exercising more. Also said my metabolism is a mess and I need to eat and exercise. Mind you this is coming from a person who thinks exercise is a dirty word.

There are also people here on the 17 day diet, no carb diets, and such. I look at their food and say that looks really good, how did you make it, they tell me then look at what I am eating and tell me I am eating wrong!

I have severe digestive problems and then got the stomach flu. I have not been eating because I cannot eat. I live on yogurt, string cheese, and ensure! I am adding more foods in for dinner.

Thanks for the vent.

PS - Still gonna look at the books

Oh yes - told to get rid of the "toys". I wear the Body Media armband, have an HRM, and a pedometer which I was trying to give away and gave up.

Does this happen to a lot of you? How do you handel it?

I only go to the gym once every three days, and someone told me that I might as well not go.

This was someone on a diet to lose 14lbs in 14 days, BTW....

Great job on the loss so far mc! 14 in 14? Yeah that person should not be giving out advice. Don't think that is healthy.
