Fat Help

I'm waaayy under my daily fat intake. I've never even thought about it before because I've always been in the mindset of low-fat = better for you. I'm fine with calories and carbs but am unsure how to up the fat intake while not upping the caloric intake. Suggestions??

you can't really add fats without adding calories. That was a problem for me when I started. Now as I plan my day, I make sure to use olive oil and vinegar on my salad and leave enough calories for some peanut butter on an apple or a wasa cracker. I cut back somewhere else and add more exercise to make the numbers come out OK.

As the resident lover of fats, here are some suggestions:
Olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil
Cook in bits of butter
Eat fatty/oily fish like salmon, herring, ahi tuna
Eat a bit of skin on chicken
Almonds, walnuts, pine nuts, filberts, cashews, what have you
Plain yogurts and cheeses
Eggs (the yolk too!)

As the resident lover of fats, here are some suggestions:

Eat fatty/oily fish like salmon, herring, ahi tuna
Eat a bit of skin on chicken

Also, when you adjust your foods and eat more fat, you will end up eating less because the natural fats like mentioned above help to keep you fuller longer and more satisfied. Adds a lot of great taste too.0 -
