Cutting the carbs?

Ok so I've been on a diet 3 weeks now.
-2lbs first week.
-1lbs second week
-1lbs third week.
Its surely but slowly coming off!
My diet has been basically been a pretty normal average healthy diet with exercise added.
I'm just wondering how many people have cut the carbs out of their diet and how successful this has been with loosing weight?
