P90X

Any P90Xers on here? Im interested in getting honest reviews, outside of their self-promoting forums.
Please give an honest opinion, and dont hate on them. I am only interested in other peoples reviews of the workouts, not service, support etc.

This is from a female perspective so not sure if it will be helpful.

I love the program. I lost around 40 pounds with 2 rounds (27 first round and the rest the second round). It gave me nice muscles definition and great fitness level.

It is not an easy program but if you stick with it you will see results. You need to have good clean eating habits to maximize results.

Maximize, but is it necessary? And what abt supplements?

I think it is necessary to eat properly and food with good nutritional value regardless of your goals. I didn't follow their nutrition guide but used the macros mentioned in the book. I never really ate that bad in terms of quality of food but I think that as long as I got close to the macros, I got good results. Today I am maintaining and eat between 1900 - 2200 calories and follow a 40/30/30 split.

In terms of supplements, I didn't use any during my first round but I started using protein shakes the second time around to get help with the protein needs. I also use bars that are high in protein. They just help me get a higher protein intake but you can definitely get that from regular food. You just need to know what to eat.

They will mention recovery drinks, pre-workout drinks, etc. I didn't use any of that. If you need a recovery drink, you can get it by drinking a glass of chocolate milk which has close to the 4:1 ratio (carbs/protein) needed to help with muscle recovery.

    feast! thanks!
  • I really enjoyed the P90X program! I was a self-proclaimed "couch potato" so it definitely was a wake up call for me. I did P90X Classic so it was a mix of strength training and cardio workouts. No matter workout you do, whether it is Plyometrics, Chest & Back, Yoga, etc..., you will definitely be sweating a lot!

I completed my round of P90X about a week and a half ago and I am feeling much better about myself :) I dropped a little over 30 pounds in three months and I have a lot more energy and living a more active lifestyle since I started the program. Here are my results from Day 1 to Day 90: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/627859-p90x-day-90-pictures

Best of luck on your fitness journey :)
