Back after baby!

Hey everyone!

So I was pretty active on MFP until about 9monts ago, when I found out I was pregnant. I carried on exercising during pregnancy (but didn't log on here much) but my healthy eating went out the window. When I found out I was pregnant I had lost around 30lbs using MFP.

Well during pregnancy I managed to gain nearly 60lbs (I am very ashamed to admit). I lost 30lbs of tat from giving birth (big baby + lots of water) but I now have another 30lbs to go - so I am basically back to where I started before losing the weight in the first place.

My baby girl was born 5th June and I am still recovering from a traumatic labour, and am not allowed to exercise until she is 6 weeks old. I am back to eating healthy again tho in order to lose the weight. I lost a lot of friends on here during my pregnancy as I didn't log on much, so am looking for new friends as having the support before really helped! Any friends out there for me?? Please add me :-)

  • Congrats on your baby. That is awesome you are getting right back into it. I had my baby 20 months ago and gained 10 more pounds in the first year bc I thought it was okay bc I was nursing. lol! Add me if you want! :-)

    Try not to stress. I know what you are feeling! I lost over 50 pounds before having my first then gained 60. But you know what...I got in even BETTER shape after having her than I was pre-pg. If i can do it, you totally can do it.
  • Hi Lisa..I'm a mom of 2 and you should be very proud for getting back on track so soon..I was not nealry as motivated...I have a 31/2 yr old and 13 month baby..I am just now seriously working at getting my body back! So please friend me..i would love to support another mom!

    Hi Lisa, I'm am a mom of 2. My second son was born on March 27th of this year and my first son is about 2 1/2 years of age. I am new to this site and I am very motivated to get back to my old body. The second child around is much harder plus as I age its harder to loose. So please friend me...its nice to have other moms for support!

    Congratulations on the baby! I'm sorry to hear that you had a traumatic labor! If you want to friend me feel free. I am a mother of 2 (a 9 year old girl and a 2 year old boy). I know what it's like trying to lose weight after pregnancy (twice).
  • Hi! I had a baby boy June 3rd and I am dying to get back to exercising but have to wait for my six week check up. I gained almost 50 lbs and now I have a little over 20 to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I only signed onto myfitnesspal for the first time today, and am excited to have "help" in trying to get back into shape. So, we are obviously in the same boat. Just want to fit in all my clothes again!! Congratulations on the baby and good luck on the road ahead. So yes, friend me-it's nice to know someone out there is in my same predicament!
