Heart Monitor All Day?

So I got to work today and managed to forget my tennis shoes for my lunch walk and decided that I would strap on my heart monitor and watch and get an idea of how many calories I actually do burn just doing nothing (except working) and see if doing absolutely nothing does actually burn 1400+ calories. I am horrified because I only have 490 calories left for the day and I missed my window to excercise. Has anyone done this before, or have I completely lost my mind?
