The the problem with that is that my dog would inevitably take off after a squirrel/bunny/car/whatever, and I would end up with something broken! :)

I use what's similar to a "british lead" on our Springer and he behaves very well on walks. Part of the leash wraps around his chest so when he tugs, it tightens on his chest. He doesn't tug much. I've jogged with him on this. I would never put a leash around my waist and attach it to a dog. This little guy pulled me down the driveway when he was just a puppy and under 40 lbs.

This is the leash I use with him:

That is a cool find, but I agree with lunamare - don't tie an animal to you if he is big enough to drag you where you don't want to go. In fact, unless your dog will consistently walk/jog/run with you on a "loose" leash (no pulling at all, staying in the "heel" position at all times) then you really need the control of a good leather leash, not something that will stretch and allow him to reach out past where you intended to allow him to go.

Doesn't matter what I use, I still end up dragging him along. I leave him at home for runs but boy, that dog can walk for days. LOL

    Thanks for the link.
