How to beat the 2 PM slump.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get through the 2PM slump without coffee? I've been having a hard time the past few days. My normal "Get up and walk around" isn't working right now. I'm sipping on a refreshing water with Lime but it's not helping either.

I stretch and go outside for a few minutes...the sunlight seems to help me. but sometimes nothing but a peice of dark choclate will work.

I read "How to beat the 2 PM slut"

so clearly I'm not one who should give advice about waking up lol

But for me that 2-3pm slump I usually make sure I'm getting enough water and if I still need a pick me up I try to have some berries or an apple.
I agree with Bejuled - dark chocolate def works too :)

I don't know what you're eating for lunch, but if it's carb heavy, that could be the problem.
You might also need to sleep more at night, so you're well rested for the day.

I switched to an all-day-snacking mode. I have a decent breakfast, then break in to my lunch bag around 11AM and have 2-3 bites of something and a lot of water. Every half hour to an hour, I repeat this process. I'm usually finishing up my lunch right around 4PM, then I get home at 6 and I'm hungry enough to really enjoy supper but not so hungry that I'm emptying the fridge into my mouth. A light snack about 8:00 or so, and I'm good to go for the night.

Also, make sure what you are eating for lunch has lots of proteins and complex carbs and fats, and very little in terms of simple sugars.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I try to get a good amount of sleep and usually have a salad with some chicken and beans in it to try and get a good amount of protein. I get up at 4:30 though to run, so I think that by 2PM my motor is starting to slow down a little bit. I got some more ice in my water and had a PBcup as my afternoon snack and that helped.
