Continuosly low sodium

Hi,does anyone know if a diet that's continuously low in sodium will affect weight loss? I generally don't eat salt and don't use it in cooking or prepping of meals. I can see by my diet records that i'm rarely reaching the targets set via MFP, so am wondering how this affects weight loss and I know excessive sodium in diets can lead to water retention problems...
