Spot training to lose inches not weight

Hi all.

Just to being I have lost an inch off my waist through running and going ab exercises in the gym, I am not losing weight at the moment :( and I am reconsidering my diet.

What I really want to do is lose inches off my hips and thighs. Can anyone suggest exercises to tone and shrink these areas. At the moment in the gym I do the following mainly:

- jogging at 12 minute mile pace (20-40mins)
- cross trainer (20 mins)
- Stationary bike (15-20 mins)

Plus hip abductors, leg presses and some arm workouts. I also do some sit ups and pilates for my tummy sometimes with weight balls etc.

What can I add to lose 2inches off my hips by the end of July August?

    Well, you can't spot reduce.. so try as you might, you may or may not lose those 2 inches.

    Seems like you do a lot of cardio and not a lot of weight training. I'd reverse that mind set and do more weight training than cardio.. along with the leg press, do some squats and lunges. They are good for the hips/thighs/butt.

    liposuction is the only way to spot reduce.
