I am pretty confused about how many calories are necessary to loose weight. I've read several articles about the evils of eating too little (it shuts down the metabolism, etc.) but then it seems if I eat over 1,200 calories a day (which seems like major calorie deprivation!!) I am not loosing weight!! ARRRGG!! I excercise like a fiend (also a marathoner) just so I can actually EAT!!
1,200 calories a day (without exercise) is like a yogurt, a salad and a sandwich for the whole day. Is this to be my reality for the rest of my life? (sorry...I digress :noway: ) So is that the case? Do I only get to eat a lousy 1,200 calories a day (assuming I stop exercising an hour a day) if I want to get below 148??? ( I am 5'8" btw)
