I too am on a low sodium diet. It is on the bland side sometimes. I have started using fresh herbs and Mrs. Dash. I am also on a heart healthy diet. Dr. said as long as frozen foods are less than 500 mgs. they are fine. I have always cooked without salt.

I love Schwarz No added salt Season All. It's a mix of herbs, spices, pepper, garlic and other things. Sometimes I try and mix my own by copying the ingredients and grinding them. It can be added to cooking or sprinkled over the dish.

I'm in the UK by the way...

I'm on 1750mg sodium and the only salty thing I add to food on occasion is reduced sodium soy sauce. There are lots of reduced sodium products which are the same price as the 'normal' stuff. Like Heinz reduced salt and sugar tomato ketchup, can't even taste the difference

A great alternative would be fresh lemon!!!!

You could do both freshly squeezed as well as the zest ... it brings a whole new palate of freshness to a homemade chicken vegetable soup, let me tell ya!!!!!!!!!
