SlimCado - Florida Avocado

I just tried one and threw it out. I'm not sure if it wasn't fully ripe or if I just didn't like it. Does anyone know what to look for in a fully ripe Florida avocado. This one was hard and when I took a bite of it it was bitter and not at all soft like the CA avocado. Is this the normal flavor and texture or do I need to wait a few days for the other one I bought to ripe? When I shook them you can hear the pit moving and they are firm but have a slight amount of give when you squeeze. Thanks!!

You want them to be as soft as a Calif avocado when they are ripe.
They don't taste the same as Calif avocados. I grew up in FLA and moved to the West Coast, and they are very different. Lighter taste, less calories and fat. But I like them in some things like smoothies and guacamole. They are still an excellent source of fiber and nutrients, especially Potassium.0 -
Thanks for the information. I think I will wait until the other one is much more soft.0
