So I just enlisted in the Army about 3 weeks ago. When I went through processing at MEPS I had my BMI calculated and It came back as 17%. The calculator on here says my BMI is 27.1%. I've always carried a little more weight across my chest/shoulders than most people. But that seems like to much of an offage. Has anyone else had their BMI professionally calculated? Was it off this much for you?

I think you may be confusing body fat % with BMI. . .

    BMI doesn't have a percentage, it's just a number.

    Just an idea. . .:flowerforyou:

Yeah if your BMI were 17, you would actually be underweight if you are around 5'5. I agree with the last comment...probably your fat percentage...and that's pretty great if it's 17%!
