Hello,

I'm 24 years old and I've been eating low glycemic balanced meals throughout the day for about 5 weeks now and tracking on MFP for 4. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16 years old and I came to the realization that my insulin resistance was totally out of control, as was my blood pressure. I started getting migraines for the first time ever and then I was denied a certain medication at a clinic because my blood pressure was so high. I was devastated and ashamed at the condition of my health. I read up on PCOS and insulin resistance, implemented a plan, and I'm already feeling exceedingly better!

I'm not sure what my starting weight was because I had thrown out my scale a couple years ago lol. I just got one a couple weeks ago and I know I've lost 3 pounds as of last sunday, my guess would be about 10 pounds overall. I'm trying to lose about 50-75 pounds in the scheme of things. Looking to make changes that I will live with for the rest of my life. Hell, eating like this feels so much better than the way I felt before, why not, right?!

So feel free to add me as a friend. I'd love to see what other people are up to and exchange support and encouragement!

I probably should have posted this at a better time, when a vast majority of the MFP community isn't sleeping lol. Thanks for the response, mommanurse! Still looking for more buddies!

I am new and could use some support buddies too! I am 30 years old and have some baby weight to lose. Not sure if I can still call it baby weight when the baby is 2 years old now! Would love to be friends! Good luck!
  • I'm new too! Reading your introduction it sounds like we are very much in a the same boat. I am also 24, was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 12 and have recently started eating consciously of my insulin resistance. I think we could be a great team to support each other! Look forward to getting to know you a little better! Good luck! :)
