Vegetarian/Vegan & Gluten/Dairy Free

Hi all,
I have some questions. I have been trying to be vegetarian and follow a gluten free diet without going to the fuss of buying GF bread etc, because it's just not practical with a family of 4 and in the Netherlands it's difficult to get hold of anyway. Does anyone have any tips for me?
I find it most challenging when eating out as there is literally nothing to eat - the vegetarian options in the Netherlands are generally somewhat scant so I am stuck with either soup or a salad eternally and if I want to be gluten free that means nothing else to eat *with* the soup or salad.
I am generally ok with that, but my family is getting annoyed, specifically my boyfriend as he feels uncomfortable tucking into, eg a huge plate of ribs, when I am stuck with the salad bar choices. At home I have few choices other than to fall back on salad/soup when the family have their meals as cooking complicated separate meals is becoming taxing. The family is also becoming a bit annoyed because they feel they are being short-changed in their menu options (I cook dinner daily) because I now have to cook two meals.

Hi! There are loads of things you can eat - especially at home - you may be a bit more stuck eating out and have to bring along a GF bread roll for your soup!
