Its not nice to make a grown woman beg

Someone help me before I go mad. I need music to listen to while I'm working out and my own playlists are driving me crazy. I like to listen to old school, classic rock and anything that has a good beat. I like to be able to sing along, even if I'm off toon.

Any body got suggestions for me pleeeeeeze. You will be my hero or heroet of the day.

Karen

Michael Jackson's Thriller (took an aerobics class where it was part of the sound track, still can't hear it without thinking of exercise )
    Ravel's Bolero for warm-ups
most of the pieces in Dirty Dancing, Flashdance, Sinead O'Connor's I do not want what I haven't got

...not exactly classic rock, but it would give some variety.

In terms of music that keeps you moving, Robyn is one of my all time favorites. She is a Swedish pop star and her music is GREAT, and I generally don't enjoy pop. Easy to sing along to, great beats, and she has like, four albums so lots of material. Here is my favorite song by her:

P.S. I LOVE her because you can tell that even if no one was watching or filming she would keep doing what she's doing.

Queen is quite motivating when I ride bicycle or workout. I know it changes pace some, but it really does get going. Have you listened to the Coyote Ugly Soundtrack? It has some great get up and move songs.
  • I LOVE listening to The B-52s when I'm exercising! It adds a new level of fun :)

I got bored with my playlists too. Now I just listen to PANDORA. I add a station depending on what I'm in the mood for and can always do a quick mix to keep it interesting.

Old school, classic rock, with a beat... Bon Jovi, Poison, Areosmith (and other 80's hair rock?) Guns and Roses a bit much for you? AC/DC? Black Sabbath?

Umm... really old school, some Beatles tracks are quite upbeat but generally a bit slow. Pink Floyd? Some of The Cure? Depeche Mode (their 80/90s stuff gets quite rocky).

    Have fun!

Personally I'd be all about the 80's pop i.e. Duran Duran, Madonna...

This! I think Spotify is also an option (I'm in the UK, and I can't access my US Pandora playlists from here...). I believe you can even choose an option to sync a Spotify playlist to your iPod so that you don't need wifi or an app.

Other than that, I love classic rock music like the Stones, Beatles, Doors. I'm not usually a Lady Gaga fan, but her stuff is great for a workout, and lately I've gotten re-hooked onto Maroon 5.

I saw this on Pinterest: http://2be-fit.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/100-best-workout-songs.html It's a list of high tempo music tracks, as is this one: http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/music/popular-playlists/reader-favorites-top-100-workout-songs/

I have a TON of stuff that I listen to when I workout. I mainly use rap music (mostly Eminem) when I run, but Queen, Meat Loaf and Crash Test Dummies get listened to quite a bit as well.

Not sure if you have a smart phone, but there is this new website and app you can get that will pick your playlist according to your mood. They have a 'running' mood which is usually really good for any cardio work out.
