I think eating healthy choices in moderation is the key, whole grains, leans meats, good fats (MUFAs), fruits & veggies, beans & legumes, low fat dairy, and dont forget the occasional sweet treat. The most important thing I do to control my portion size, is weigh & measure everything I eat.
This is what I do. And it works. I weigh/measure everything. I took my food scale to my parents house on Father's Day and some of my family laughed at me for weighing EVERYTHING, even fruit, but keeping an accurate count of calories(for me) is essential to weight loss. Losing weight and eating healthy isn't complicated--dieting companies would like us to think so because it makes them money...LOTS of it. Find healthy foods that you like, that you can eat on a regular basis for the rest of your life. Same with exercise-find something you enjoy and stick with it.0
