Ladies 45+.....harder to lose? What is working for you?

Hi! I was just wondering if ladies 45+ think they are finding it harder to lose weight now and if so have you found anything particular that works as a plan? I have been on a plateau for about 4 months (recently I have not been helping the situation as I found it hard to keep motivated and had major end of year work pressure that made it hard to stick to a routine). I am wondering if age is making it harder (hormonally, etc?). I would be interested to hear your feedback. Did you at any point change what you were doing and see more success in losing those lbs?
