Muscle Mass Percentage/Body Composition?

Hi Everyone,

I've done a bit of googling and not really found a definitive answer on this one so I hope you guys can help. I just got a handheld body composition monitor, and it's given me a 'body muscle' percentage of 67%, but it's not more specific than that. Is that good or bad? It sounds quite high to me (which I would consider good, I want to be stronger and healthier). Below are the stats entered and given:

5'5
138lbs
Age: 27
Body Fat: 29% (booooo  )
Water: 51.3%
Body Muscle: 67%
BMI: 22.9

It does say to do it before drinking anything but I was too excited to wait! I can't imagine it'll affect it too much would it? My confusion is ruining the fun of my new toy!
Can anyone shed any light on the muscle mass, I know that the BF% is too high at the moment but have no idea on the others!

Thanks!
Leni x

Skeletal muscle is really only about 40% of your body weight. Don't rely on hand held monitors to be very accurate though. Water and salt intake greatly affect how numbers are spit out by those things.

Thanks for replying, I'll use those numbers as a very general idea of my body composition from now on!

    Thanks
