How do you make your protein shake?

i just use water and the powder.
My son made me one, added yogurt, milk, ice. He said I needed to add strawberries or banana (which I didn't have at the time).
I would have to say, big difference. Now maybe I will drink them more, especially right after my workout.

But I need more ideas, so throw your favorite protein shake at me.

thanks

When I'm at work, I just use skim milk and the powder. At home, I will add ice and yogurt and what ever fruit I'm feeling. Or sometimes I'll add peanut butter.

Handful of blueberries, 3 strawberries, a wee bit of pineapple juice and some crushed ice. Turn the blender on and watch my cats scatter to every room in the house/

I usually make mine with either vanilla protein powder, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, banana, honey, and ice or chocolate protein powder, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, banana, a little peanut butter, and ice. Dashingdish.com has some good recipes that use cottage cheese. I was skeptical at first because I'm not a cottage cheese fan, but it is actually very good. It gives it a thicker, milkshake like consistancy.

I use herbalife cookies and cream protein, only 90 calories
then add water, frozen fruit and ice, blend till its thick and depending on the amount of fruit, can be 150 calories or more.
Love them and have them everyday!!!

I peel and freeze bananas when they are ripe. Use the banana instead of ice.

    1 frozen banana
1 scoop of frosty chocolate protein powder
1 cup of milk (I use almond)

    DELICIOUS! Choco-banana milk shake

I add peanut butter or almond butter if I need extra calories.

I have almost the same thing, except I use PB2.

    Another I really like is..
8 oz. Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
1 or 2 scoops Vanilla Protein Powder
    2 Pineapple rings
    Sprinkle of Cinnamon
    4-5 Ice Cubes
Blend and enjoy. This is one of my favorites!

small handful (~1cup) of frozen berries
handful of fresh greens (spinach, kale, micro greens, whatever you've got)
    scoop of whey protein
scoop of powdered greens (spirulina, algaes, wheat & barley grass, etc)
    1+ Tablespoon extra-virgin coconut oil!!!
Water to cover (or a healthy juice, like Bolthouse Farms Green Goddess with water)

I use my smoothies as a way to get my vitamins/supplements, too; so I add MSM, flax seed (freshly ground) and probiotic.

I credit Coconut Oil for helping me turn my life around! I was eating pretty healthy and working out often (in addition to teaching exercise classes in the evening) and still wasn't losing weight until I started eating more raw foods and including coconut oil in my diet. I think it was the "missing puzzle piece" my metabolism needed (I wasn't getting enough healthy fat; and C.O. is used almost immediately for fuel) - since then, I've gotten certified as a nutritionist and pass this recipe on to all my clients, with much success!

I scoop whey protein powder (chocolate of course -), 4 ounces 1% milk, 4 ounces of vanilla almond milk or the almond/coconut milk blend, half a banana, and about a TBS of PB.
  • My favorite - I have this at least 4 times a week, and usually more:

    - 1 cup of almond or rice or coconut milk
    - 1.5 scoops of IsoFlex protein powder (chocolate)
    - 1/2 cup of oatmeal
    - 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
    - 1/2 a banana
    - 2 ice cubes
    - 5gr each: creatine, BCAA, Glutamine

I cannot get enough of this shake.

I use to put almond butter in - 1 tablespoon. It was awesome, but I just couldn't get used to how many calories it added.
