MFP Take 2

Hi Everyone,
I have been using MFP for a few months now, but under a different account.
I was eating 1200 calories (not eating back exercise calories) and my body has gone mental and started shutting down! (TMI but I haven't had a period in 3 months).
Last week I was hungry ALL DAY EVERY DAY. I think I ate 8000 calories over the weekend. It was insane.
I have re-evaluated my plan, and increased calories to 1500. I know that it is going to take awhile for my body to readjust but I just want to be healthy!
& I would love some friends to support/support me in my new journey!
xx

Hi,
I'm new to MFP, a long time friend introduced me to the app, we are approximately the same age & weight, and have a common goal of ideal weight, so its good to have the support and motivation to do something good for your body.
I am amazed at how easy and organized this is to keep track of food, diet, etc.
Don't get discouraged, is my best advice.
About 6 years ago, I was as healthy as I'd ever been, and less than a year later I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, and have been on medication ever since. The meds (prednisone especially) made me gain 40 pounds in 3 months, very embarassing, I still have the stretch marks. My goal is to drop the 40 lbs I gained
Fortunately, I have been able to maintain my weight since the initial "massive gain", and only recently has my health been well enough to feel like losing weight and getting into shape is even a realistic possibility.
Stay Motivated! Monitor your intake. I have been hungry since I downloaded this app (lol) I dont even want to guess what my calorie intake was before I started to monitor, now my intake goal is 1600/day.
I know staying focused will have a positive outcome.0 -
If you're exercising I think you have to eat back some/most of those calories. If you just eat 1200 and you are exercising you aren't getting enough calories and you're body may go into starvation mode. I believe on the diet and exercise thread this was explained in better detail. Here is the link
