My old Cheat Days

So I used to have a cheat day, and I noticed the pounds stopped coming off. I had no idea how bad my cheat days really were effecting my weight loss because I never logged them. Throughout the day I would eat an entire Delisio Pizza. Plus breakfast and usually a soda or two.

lets calculate the calories.

Pizza

Serving Size: 1/6 pizza (144g), Calories: 360, Fat: 15g, Carbs: 40g, Protein: 17g

Over the course of the day I would finish the entire thing so that is:

Calories: 2160
Fat: 90g
Carbs: 240
Protein: 102

Plus the 2 Cans of Soda:

Sprite x2: 192 Calories

Total: 2352 Calories - Over half a pound (68%). This is without adding in breakfast! (which would probably be eggs, bacon, orange juice)

The reason I posted this is to share from my experience and hopefully it helps someone realize that they are over doing their cheat days. One full cheat day a week can actually throw out your entire week of workouts if your not careful.

I definitely suggest a cheat meal instead of a day.

I was just reading someone's post that they do a cheat meal or cheat item instead and they try to fit it into their calories. I'm thinking of doing carb cycling so if I do that then my occasional cheat would be on a high carb day.

I used to never log cheat days because I didn't want to face or acknowledge how much crap I ate. But I am going to do it from now on for self awareness. Its not all or nothing, in the end. For me, while I want to eat as healthy as I can I want to have stuff in moderation. Thx for sharing... its a big eye opener huh?? That is a lot of calories.

Yep.. it's always best to account for everything! I cheat, I just keep it within my calorie restriction. Cheat days suck though, because "cheat foods" don't fill me up as much and I get so hungry 30 minutes after I indulge! haha.

That is very very true. The way I kept full, prior to watching my weight, was eating a ton of those bad foods. Like, at a restarant it might be 2 or 3 servings on your plate.... well I'd try to finish the whole thing and plenty of times I did. Healthier foods do fill you up better for sure, and don't trigger cravings like those "indulgent" foods do where you want to attack something else a 1/2 hour later, like you said!
