Half Marathon Training

I am training for a half marathon in September. I am using the "Smartcoach" plan from runners world.
My problem is I have to run in the morning but I also have to meet up for folks for PT (in the military). I don't have time to do my full long run during PT so my thoughts are: If I do 1/2 my long run before PT and the stop and do our "organized" activity which ends in running and finish up the my second 1/2 of the run then, am I still getting the same benefits of running it straight through?
I know it is going to suck to start running again after cooling down and lactic acid settling in but I will have the motivation of the group running to start so I know I cant say "screw it" after the first 1/2.
