I am looking into starting herbalife. I am 5'6 and 190lbs. I am looking to lose about 45 lbs to reach my goal weight. I am currently also doing a boot camp 4 days a week burning 550-800 calories each session. I have been looking into herbalife and have got a starter kit and am going to try it starting next week. My question is... I know it is a life change, but I don't plan to be a lifer. I eat pretty good most of the time and can maintain, so my question is... once I reach my goal weight, I plan to drop to 1 shake a day then later going to no shakes and back to three solid meals a day. As long as I stay at my maintain caloirie intake MFP shows me to stay at i shouldn't gain any back right? Thanks!

Hey! I just joined this sucker from looking at a debate from a previous Herbalife thread. Three meals a day, for my body, will not work. I like to use the Herbalife shakes in conjunction with other "snakes" throughout the day. I've found that when I eat 6 or more mini meals a day, I lose more weight, feel less hungry, and have more energy. The shakes help me with breakfast and lunch meals. I work in the oilfield now and it helps.

The thing is this, you have to try different things to see what your body reacts to. If herbalife works, good. If it doesn't, try something else. Now, by starter kit, what do you mean? My wife and I sell herbalife. I always have people try a free shake first to see if they like them. Then I have them try the meal replacement and protein. That way they don't spend a ton of money for something that doesn't work for them. It's the same as any other supplement out there. It does not work for everyone.

My personal story with it... I used to be a die hard gym rat. I ate creatine and protein like crazy. I was very skeptical of herbalife and researched it before I allowed my wife to venture in and spend our money on it. I found nothing negative and said ok. I finally tried a shake and it wasn't half bad. I still preferred my own protein shakes. After a month or so I started using the herbalife products full time and noticed an increase in energy and it did take me a bit to get used to the hungry feeling. Of couse, this was the same case for me with my 6 small meals a day as well. I feel sorry for you if you got someone that just wanted to make a quick buck and this doesn't work for you.

The last thing I wanted to say was the only product that I stand behind 100% is the 24 line product called Prolong. Not saying it works for everyone, but all the people I have on it love it! It increases my work out times from 45 minutes to well over 2 hours. I do MMA workouts and I have found that the guys I train with will tire way before me when they are not on it as well. But, again, I wish you the best and I look forward to looking at all that this site has to offer as well. Cheers!
