Overheating

Overheating! It is getting warmer now and I am worried about the heat. Started my weight loss adventure in Jul/Aug time last year. But I was just starting and therefore the intensity was nowhere near what I can do now. The last few times I worked out I felt a little sick when I was done. I hydrate and do not feel it is this. Should I take my intensity down or do you think my body will get used to it?

I have had this problem in the past, usually when I ate beforehand. I do not eat before workouts now and dont have this problem....
When you say hydrate, how much are you drinking per day? Whats your intensity level during exercise? And, how is Apollo?0 -
I normally drink 32 oz in the morning and 32 oz in the afternoon. The first time I got sick last week I had eaten before I worked out. But yesterday I did not. Normally my intensity is high to get a burn in the 300 catagory. My workout yesterday consisted of Treadmill 30 minute (1 min at 6.5 and 1 min at 3.5) Then I did the ellipitical for 30 min. at lv 6 I believe. (first time on this machine so it was a test run)
Apollo is doing OK. Do believe his 12 years are catching up to him right now. Worried about my guy right now. What has Carly been up to? I love her pics! She is beautiful.0 -
I certainly cannot tell you what it is, but with the increased ridiculous amount of heat, I always drink around 240 oz of water per day when I work out. I probably drink that amount even on my off day. It could be dehydration. You mentioned 32 morning and 32 in the afternoon, is that the total for the day?
Carli is doing wonderful! She just had her 5th bday. I posted some pics on FB, she totally hams it up on her bday!0 -

At least, I have a 20 oz shaker bottle that I carry with me at all times.0

Even if you're drinking water in the morning and evening, be sure to hydrate right before and right after exercise. This fixed the problems I had.
However, if you're like some people in my family, your body simply doesn't tolerate the heat. I can do labor/exercise outside in 100+ degree heat and be fine, so long as I wear sunscreen and hydrate properly. If they do everything "right", they still end up with migraines, stomach issues, etc. Try drinking water beforehand and afterward, and see if that helps (and I might get thrashed for this, but gatorade helps as well, if you drink it afterward). If that doesn't help, try working out earlier or later in the day, when it's cooler*.
*One's definition of "cooler" might vary...right now it's still in the 90s at 9 pm.0 -
Thanks everyone..I will keep all this in mind and slowly change how I am doing things. aka drink more water. Add a littel gatorade after a workout, don't eat prior to working out. Also, build in a longer cool down period. I am not the best at this....better then when I was younger but it could be improved on.0
