Walmart Great Value Light Yogurt changed!!

I noticed today as I was getting breakfast that Walmart not only changed their packaging on their GV LIght Yogurt, they changed the way they make it as well. It went from 90 Cal to 100 cal. from 15 carb to 19 carb. 10 sugars to 14 sugars and 8 protein to 6 protein. So all you diabetics watch out, they've change the way they make it and made it worse. That's makes absolutely no sense to me. Their yogurt was the only yogurt around that was a complete balance in carbs & protein with a moderately low sugar. Now they are conforming to the industry norm. Why would they do this? They actually made a product worse for people. Especially in today's overweight America (including myself) , why would they do this? Buyer be aware!!

That sucks! I guess they did it b/c it's cheaper to be unhealthy than to be healthy, and they're probably trying to cut corners wherever they can just like everyone else. Boo to Walmart! I'll stick to my Dannon Light and Fit. They are available at Costco!

seems like the stores have less and less healthy foods....and most of the organic foods that we were buying are no longer there either!

It may be that they just lied on the old packaging and since they were re-doing it they decided to be truthful....sometimes I wonder just how truthful that information is on any food. We sure do put alot of trust in people that we don't know when we read those labels.

That is a possibility, I wonder if they can get into legal trouble for lying about that. Is it really worth it to do that? I didn't know the nutrition information changed, I did realize the packaging change not just on their yogurt but on all of the GV packaging.

Interesting. I do sometimes wonder about how truthful the labels are though. I hope they are truthful!

I think they can, actually. I could be wrong, but I think I've heard (rarely) of cases like that before... and rightfully so in my opinion. Essentially, it's false advertising.

Another thing some companies are doing, are putting the calories per serving or per xx ml, even though the container has xx+yy mls.

example, maybe that yogurt had all the right information per 250ml servings, but the container contained 400ml.
