Hi All! I've been very irritable and fatigued lately, is there a connection between that and my lifestyle change in regards to diet and excercise???

I did notice a little fatigue when I first started exercising but it went away after about a week. Now I have more energy than before. The only time I get irritable is when i'm not eating enough food to support my added activities.0

Diet possibly, exercise unlikely - unless you;re overtraining it's a mood enhancer.
Glancing at your diary you have your calories set very low and don't always eat them all. Change your MFP settings to lose 1lb a weak and eat a good proportion of your exercise calories and you might feel cheerier. Also you sometime eat more in snacks than proper meals. Satisfying meals might help too :flowerforyou:0 -
How are you sleeping? 8 full hours a night?0

I call it "hangry." If you're not fueling your body, you're going to feel weak and irritable. I have had people hand me food a few times just to get me to calm myself  I get hangry in a bad way if I don't eat enough!0

THIS!! Oh my goodness, what a perfect description. I'm totally going to find a way to use it in conversation today!0 -

Hangry! I love it. I'm so stealing that term. I get Hugly Hangry if I don't eat enough.0 -
It happens if you are not eating enough. You tend to not go over 1200 cals in a day... sometimes not even close to that. Too few calories will cause it0

I would say think about upping your calories - if you're past the first few weeks, you shouldn't have lagging fatigue. Also, be sure you're getting enough rest. Even when I really kill myself during a workout (say, 900 calories in 70 minutes), I don't feel fatigued that day.
Timing is critical, too... Are you eating *immediately* after your workouts? You should be - you want to take in carbs and protein in at least a 2:1 ratio (e.g., 40 grams of carbs, 20 grams of protein) if you did resistance/strength training, and more like 3:1 or 4:1 if you did an aerobic workout.
Always eat within an hour of when you stop training, and it's even better if you get your meal in within 20 minutes of when you stop working out.
(I also think 'hangry' is really funny - that's a new one on me)0 -
Thanks for the replies!0

This!!! You will be tired at first but once your body adjusts to your new activity level you should have much more energy. However if you arent eating enough to sustain your caloric needs (aka to support your body after the burn) you will get grumpy lol at least I do.. my husband always says go eat something. Good lUck0 -
if I'm hungry I'm irritable. If I'm sweating I'm irritable. I eat a lot of good food, so I do not have hunger pains so I am not irritible, unfortunately I still sweat so I am snarky when sweating a lot, otherwise I am loving the feeling of my body getting into shape so overall I am happier.
Eat a little more of good food and see if it helps.0
