"friends" make discouraging remarks, including but not limited to:
Me: So I figured out that pushing a mower around the yard in the heat of the day for 45 minutes burns about 393 calories
Response: Add edging and you'll go over 400(<<seems good, right?)>>finished with: Now, reward yourself with a Krispy Kreme. UGH!
Me:Chicken, corn, and carrots. "C" -it's what's for dinner
Response: Don't forget the cheesecake! GRR
Me: Worked out twice today, once on the elliptical and once walking with the hubby.
Response: It's too hot outside to walk! Just the elliptical is enough. Give yourself a break. >*sigh*
There are others, and I'm sure y'all know what I mean. I wish there was a way to tell people nicely that while I'm trying to get healthy, I'd appreciate them not encouraging me to eat foods that are bad for me or discouraging me from exercising. Just because they're not interested in being healthy doesn't mean they should make such negative remarks.
I just know that when I begin to get close to my goal weight, I'm going to get a lot of the "you're not eating enough," "you're starving yourself," "how much are you going to lose, anyway?" and/or "you're too skinny now" comments.
Sometimes the comments just roll off of me but there are times when it really bugs me a LOT.
I know this subject has been covered before, but I looked back a few pages and didn't find it...so how do YOU deal with the comments you wish people would just keep to themselves??
