Hello there, my name is Gerit. I am from Mankato, Kansas.

Last year I was diagnosed with Rheumatic Fever after a strep infection. My blood pressure was 176/120 and my heart was beating 120 beats per minute. Rheumatic Fever can cause endocarditis, irregular heart beat, and heart damage, so my doctor told me that if I did not take the proper precautions, I would have to have a heart transplant in about 10 years. That included eating right, exercising, and maintaining a healthy weight. I've already lost about 30 pounds; I've only got 30 more to go. I'm hoping My Fitness Pal can keep me on the right track.
