I started my fitness program mid-jan and I used not to sweat so much, little by little through the months I find I sweat more and more, but when I started sweating more, is when I plateaued at 22 lbs lost 2 months ago. Nowadays I'm sweating big time 15 minutes into zumba. Why? Is this good? Bad? Doesn't matter?

Because you're healthier. The healthier you are the more you'll sweat. It's a good thing.0

Funny I just posted about this in my status today....I know its cause of being healthier and fitter but I hate it0

Its a good thing, it means your body is becoming very efficient at cooling itself. I used to hardly sweat ,just got red faced...now I sweat buckets ....and still get red faced,lol0

I don't think this can possibly be true.
When I was heavier I used to sweat all the time. I'd sweat peeling a banana in January.
Now I find I have to go 5 or 6 minutes on the elliptical at a pretty good clip before I really start getting a good sweat going. And I know I'm in waaayyyy better shape now than before.0 -
Because your body is becoming an efficient calorie burning machine!
Burning calories generate "heat" and your body has to cool itself,i.e....sweat!
It also takes calories to produce sweat, so when you are sweating buckets.......
Smile, because you are burning that fat right off!!0 -
I think it is normal and a good thing. I have always sweat like a big, stinky man. I'm a woman. Oh well. But since I started working out it has gotten even worse. BUT, the good thing, my skin looks better than ever! I would have thought all the sweat would be bad for my skin, but it seems to be the opposite! I have PCOS, so I've really struggled with this. Also, I've been told that I don't need to worry so much about sodium intake if I sweat enough, and that when I sweat, toxins are actually leaving my body.
It all sounds good to me!
My husband was like you, and never used to sweat much. It was about 3 months into his journey toward better health that he really started sweating and now he sweat ALMOST as much as I did before I started working out! ROFL!
Ugh. Can't get too hung up on gender roles around here, I guess.
My mother says women don't sweat, they glisten. I recently told her I glisten like I'm plowing the south 40.0
