Cathy, I think it reminds me of the dog -- Sprocket- from Fraggle Rock
Okay, looking up Sprocket, your dog should NOT remind me of him, LOLOLOLOL.
love it  maybe i'll change his name. they called him DJ. don't care for that. so we have been calling him george. i thought of either george or charlie. than this morning while he was sliding all over the floors, i thought of curly(his hair) from 3 stooges. tried to shave him. nope won't be still. so will take him to the groomers when i can get extra money.
been outside digging and planting again. will head out again soon. now that i know where i want my hibiscus plants.

Estranged One finally agreed that a divorce is our only viable option.
I was happy to hear this. I've known this and been waiting for him to catch up.
Still led to nightmares last night.
Sometimes I'd really like to join my daughter at daycare for milk and cookies and nap time and forget everything else.
In food news, I ate a bunch of crap this weekend but did a lot of walking at a huge flea market in VA. I ended up buying 4 new books for my daughter (of course). Lots of depression glassware there. I never knew the history behind it before. Cool stuff. Dehydrated a bit, which worried me, but back to good today. I doubt the walking made up for the food, but it's okay. I can be restrained this coming week and get back into line.
xo Sixers, have a great Labor Day! (especially you, Kristin, haha)0 -

Hello my lovely ladies! I missed you all while I was gone! But we just got home this afternoon. DH and kids wanted to drive all night to get home from Detroit. Our flight got in about 7:00 pm, and then my suitcase didn't show up on the carousel. DH got in line to file a complaint, I asked him if we needed to figure out the bag tag number. He said they could look it up on the computer. Guess what... they couldn't look it up (I bit my tongue as I checked the other 5 suitcases and read the numbers off to him). Then he had to get back in line a second time. Come to find out, it was in their back room for some reason. The lady at the desk asked if we had checked it early (we had-- but we had also checked the other 5 bags at the same time-- who knows why airlines are the way they are). By the time we got the shuttle to where we parked and loaded the stuff, we left the airport at 8:30. I drove for the first 3 hours or so, and DH snoozed. I was exhausted, but was trying to make it to where he wanted to switch off. He woke up about 30 miles out, and was a bit concerned at my weaving and yawning I was doing, so we switched off early. About 12:30 he agreed with me that there was no way we were going to make it all in one shot, so we started looking for a hotel. 4 hotels later, no vacancies. We ended up getting a couple of rooms at about 1:00. As I tumbled into bed, he told me he wanted to be on the road by 8 am. Crazy, silly man. Still, he got his way (mostly) and we were on our way again by 8:30. Home about 1 this afternoon.
The cruise was wonderful! I had a metabolism assesment done on the ship. Now... we left the house on Wednesday, flew to Florida on Thursday, and boarded the ship on Saturday. I believe I had the assesment done on Sunday or Monday. At that time, they weighed me, and I was down to 180 :noway: :noway: Not that I was complaining-- I was ecstatic! I had lost weight while traveling! I also found out that I have 117 pounds of lean muscle mass, and have 35% body fat. (I think--the sheet is still packed in my suitcase and I'm too lazy to look for it right now). Long and short of it, the trainer told me that my goal weight of 135 is too low, that to get to 21% body fat I only have to lose 31 lbs of fat. That would put me at about 150 or so. Which was what I was when I got married. I also found out that my BMR is 1672. The trainer told me not to eat under 1600 calories. Period. I'm kinda struggling with that one... lol Seems like a lot, especially if I eat my exercise calories on top of it. Maybe I'll try it for a couple of weeks or so and see what happens. I went back and got weighed again on Thursday (my ring was almost impossible to get on) and I had gone up to 182 lbs. I was blaming it on the heat in St. Thomas and the french food that was served the night before, as well as the fact that I was weighed about an hour after dinner that day   . When we got home this afternoon, I weighed myself again and was 184.5. But that was fully dressed after lunch, with 2 days of traveling and fast food. I'm not actually posting a weight today, I figure I'll give myself until Tuesday for my body to get back to normal.
The cruise itself was phenomenal! For the most part, I made good food choices. Most nights, I chose a lighter fare dinner. I even skipped dinner dessert a couple of times, because I was already full. For lunches, I didn't even go by the dessert buffet. On one of the decks, you could get burgers, dogs, sandwiches, pizza, ice cream (pretty much whatever you wanted) all day long, starting at about 10 am and going until midnight. I didn't hit any of them up, until the last night, when I had a couple of slices of pizza. The food was yummity, but I didn't go overboard. And I exercised most days, I only took 3 days off during the last 10 days, and a couple of those days were traveling days, when it was just impossible (although I did walk circuits around the airport yesterday). All in all, this trip helped me realize this IS a lifestyle change, not just a get to my goal weight diet.
The ports of call (St. Maarten and St. Thomas) weren't all that. Unless you are a lover of shopping or did an excursion, that is. DH took the kids to the beach in St. Maarten, and nobody really liked it that much. I walked around town shopping some, and spent way too much on some chocolates and that was about it. Unfortunately, the chocolates didn't taste as good as they looked, so that was a big bummer. In St. Thomas, we let the kids stay on the ship, and DH and I went shopping. He bought a crystal ship in a bottle. I bought a dress at a flea market and a gold watch (I'll be paying this watch off for the next year, lol) at a jewelry store. We also got all the kids t-shirts at this port. Our last port of call was the Disney owned island of Castaway Cay. This was by far the best stop! We took the kids snorkeling and swimming. After a couple of hours on the family beach, two of the kids were ready to go back to the ship. Another one, we hadn't even seen since he got off the ship (he went to the teen beach with his friend) and the oldest kid had gone on an excursion to do snorkeling, kayaking, and biking with another group of teens and a couple of counselors. He got back from that and went straight to bed and to sleep! So, since everyone was occupied, DH and I went to the adult beach, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We do have pictures, but they aren't downloaded off the camera yet. When they are, I'll be changing my avatar for sure. By far, the best days were the days at sea. Nothing to do but relax. We did see a couple of shows, some comedians, and some movies in the theater. And I laid out by the pool for a couple of hours a couple of times. We hardly saw the kids at all, they hung in their different areas with their new friends most of the time. We made them come to dinner with us each night though, and there were days when that was the only time we saw them  All in all, a wonderful time.
Sorry I wrote a book here, so many good things to share.0 -
mornin'
hello bunny.....WOW sounds like a great time. i want to go on a curise. DH says if he doesn't have to work on it he will go. (he was in the navy). you did a great job on the eating. that is something i need to get into my head. that this is a lifestyle change not just a quick something to do. the metabolism assesment did it tell you what you burn as in do you have a low/aver/high burn. i would just eat the 1600 and not add the exercise cals just to see what happens. if you are hungry than add just a few here and there. that is so cool i would like to have that done. guess i will have to go on a cruise to have it done.
sitting out here on a beautiful cool morning. the dogs are running everywhere. getting myself back on track today. i start school tomorrow night. i sure hope they have the 10 people for class. if not it will be cancelled.
well, battery running down on laptop.

Wow, I am glad you had such a good time on the cruise and great news about all the assessment stuff you got done. I've never been on a cruise but I tend to like vacations centering on historical landmarks and museums and stuff.
I hear they are so much fun though so I have always been tempted...lol.
Take care and welcome back!

Glad to here you had such a great time on your cruise ... welcome back!!! I just got back from a weekend away ... family reunion ... what can I say ... 2 days in a car with no exercise and one day in between filled with lots and lots and lots of food with not too many healthy choices to be found. I did walk a lot and rode a peddle boat with my daughter for 1/2 hour so that killed a few calories. I haven't been near a scale at all so I'll check in the morning to see if there's been any damage done. I hope you all had a nice long weekend. Talk to you soon.0
