Well, I took some much needed time away to get refocused. I am comming back with a better attitude and hoping to have tons of success this go around. I am looking to reach 131, but instead of trying to reach it by next week or even Christmas, I'm going to give myself until at least my birthday in April. As long as I see some signifigant changes by then I will be happy though. I need a good plan. I need an awesome support system. I often feel alone here, being a full-time student and sinlge mom. My parents and brother are awesome, but as far as friends go, they have pretty much all gone their own way. I've always been the thin one in the family and even though I still weigh less, Im not as healthy as I once was. How can I be a good role modle and help my family get healthy, if I an't get my habits under control.. My issues are I go from not eatting enough to eatting too much. I also like my sweets. I think I can probably treat myself everyday and still do ok as long as it is one serving instead of the entire bag of choclates or half a carton of ice cream. I really want to learn portion control and that eatting wont hurt me if its the right foods. I also need a good fitness plan. I use to skate, ride bikes, swim, etc before I had children. Now I am lucky if I get to take a walk. Usually, its during my lunch break. (When I get those) Anyway, I'm back and ready to conquer my weight proble. I will be taking my synthroid every morning and adding a multivitamin every day at luch as well. I would like to know if there are any supplements that can aide in my efforts. I dont want a magic pill, been there and done that, but I would like to know if there is something I can do along with better eatting and more activity. Thank You. I"m also looking to find a support group that is starting a challange. I was looking at the RED HIGH HEELS group and I like the way it was set up. Conquer one thing at a time and then add to it.
Thanks Again

I too am a single Mom, a lot older than you however - I'm 49. My daughter is 13. Still I understand how alone you can feel at times - but I'm here to say you are NOT alone. Although we are not in close physical proximity, you are my sister, and I understand your trials. I'm with you in spirit. And if you need comfort or support message me and I'll be happy to lend a hand where and when I can - but I'm around here a lot, it's a good place.
I'm cheering for you. I know a lot of other people will be too.
What I learned from joining this sight is that knowledge is power. Knowing how and what I ate, helped tremendously. I learned what is good and what is bad - and as you say, I learned that I don't have to give things up for the rest of my life, I just have to live reasonably.
Glad you're here!0 -
