HELP! My new scale is 4 pounds heavier!!

I have a dilemma and I need your advise! I just got a new fitbit aria scale yesterday and to my dismay is says I am 4 pounds heavier than my previous scale!(which means I was 4 pounds heavier to begin with! yuck!) So, the 31 pound loss is still accurate but that also means i have to lose 4 more pounds for MFP to notice! Is there any way I can "fix" this????

You can go to setting and then check in. It lets you change your starting weight/date under the edit tab. I had to do this when I bought new scales last month. Very depressing - but fixed and back on track now.

Kill your new scale with a bat. It's clearly evil :P

Just go into your settings and change your starting weight. The amount you've lost is the same so don't feel bad! :) You've done great!:flowerforyou:

My new scale said I was 2 pounds heavier. So I had to make a decision....and I chose to go by the new scale and just accepted the increase. I am still losing weight...my clothes are getting looser. I am content. :)

When we changed scales, i got the same thing. Changing my old data (+4) felt like too much work, so I just waited until my "new" weight was at or lower than the last scale-recorded weight. Took me about a month to lose the 4 lbs, but there ya go. It's all relative, anyway :)

Besides the # - what do you think of the Aria? I've been eyeing those for awhile (already have a Fitbit Ultra)
  • 4 pounds, eh? Well my new scale says 21 pounds heavier. THAT'S upsetting. My wife and I are both depressed. Well, I'm planning on taking the hit up front and moving on. It's the amount LOST that's important, so I'm going to focus on that... and then hopefully I can break out of the slump since I'm not in the last 10 pounds any more!! :-)
