Just when I was getting healthy and losing weight I had to go a have appendicitis. I had emergerncy surgery Sunday night and then had to have emer. surgery again early Monday morning because I was bleeding out in my belly. I gained 20 pounds of water/fluid in the hosp. Everything is swelled up, hands, feet, ankles, legs, belly. I wont be able to excersise for a few weeks. At this point not worried about gaining weight, I have only ate about 400 cals in the last 3 days, yesterday couldnt keep anything down. I feel like sh** and now will be out for the next few weeks. UGH!! I need to just watch my calories over the next few weeks and heal my body, but it still sucks!

I feel your pain. My setback was in April when I was diagnosed with (a very treatable form) Leukemia. It's amazing how 4 days in the hospital will drag you down. I went from being active to sedentary in a matter of days. And do you think they could put me on a low cal diet? I was so sick of seeing pie on my tray!

Keep up the healthy eating. it's the best way to heal. I increased my calories and had to up my carbs a little (to heal cells). You'll be back on track in no time.

Keep logging in. Your friends on MFP will see you through this!

I had appendicitis a few years ago. All that swelling will go down. You'll probably lose some weight (it is hard to eat at first). Just relax and heal, and know you'll back to your healthy lifestyle soon.:flowerforyou:
